Adapted specifically for this limited-edition t-shirt, Wiley’s painting Death of St. Joseph (2017) derives its ideation from 18thCentury classical biblical portraiture and the enigmatic art history of St. Joseph, boldly reimagined for a contemporary audience. The garment’s visionary portrait is vibrantly displayed on the back and its stylized and imaginative design of lush multi-colored flowers, greenery, and a powerful yet playful rooster decorate the entire surface of the shirt.
