The BC22 Classic Analog Alarm clock is unique in form. Its silhouette is derived from the AB 2 clock designed in 1984 by Dieter Rams. The clean simplistic dial and contrasting hands that feature luminous tips offers great legibility. The addition of the iconic yellow second hand is synonymous with Braun’s award-winning design history and long-lasting aesthetics. As with all Braun products the emphasis is on prioritizing usability and functionality and this is perfectly illustrated by the continuous backlight function that subtly illuminates the dial when in low-light environments. The unobtrusive backlight aids legibility, resulting in effortless time reading at night. This function can also be disabled by the user. Among it’s features are a snooze and light function, as well as a crescendo beep alarm that once set is visible on the clock face with a green indicator. The BC22 is powered by a quartz movement that ensures the clock is quiet and precise.
Over the last six decades, design has become a core pillar of the Braun brand. The values of quality, functionality, clarity, longevity and timelessness have been integrated into an enduring design philosophy. Braun users identify with these values; for them, Braun watches, Braun clocks, and Braun calculators are long-term companions. In an age of prosperity and saturation, the benefit of fewer, better products has become self-evident.
As Braun sets out to create desirable, innovative products, their gaze looks forward into the future, whilst the design principles they use to achieve consistency, simplicity and clarity are firmly rooted in the brand’s unique design legacy.
There are few better examples of these enduring design principles than Braun timepieces. These watches, clocks, and calculators have been created as collections of engaging simplicity, where less becomes so much more.
